Hey, good morning (depending on when you are reading this)! This week has been good for moving forward with this newsletter. I experienced some engagement with posting on FB groups to get more content for the newsletter. Don’t forget to check out the Facebook/Instagram pages for more of CDAR if you are interested. Also, reviews have been dropping first on those platforms before they come here. I’m also on Google maps. Stay tuned as CDAR grows. I have been getting most subscribers by paying for ads through Meta (you probably clicked one). My current ad campaign is ending tonight, then I’ll probably start running ads again in April.

Thank you to everyone who has subscribed. If you know anyone else who may be interested please forward them this link (https://cdar.beehiiv.com/). I hit a small milestone this week, and look forward to seeing where this goes. You are part of this journey!

With all of that said, I hope you enjoy this edition. It’s not a lot, but I’m thankful for what’s in here today. Also, I’m excited for what’s coming in the future.

In this week’s review:

  • Pokeworks: Serving good food & good service

  • Alpine Web Design: Helping businesses level up with good websites

  • The Sherman Tower: Something big is coming

  • Local events: Looking for something to do?

Not just for fans of fish…

This is Pokeworks Coeur d'Alene! First off, the manager was very welcoming and I appreciate being able to make this review today.

Upon entering, it's easy to notice that quality food is in the works. Their food is fresh every day (they were actually slicing salmon during my visit). On top of their fish choices like salmon or shrimp, you can also get cooked chicken or tofu for your protein.

The manager I spoke to explained how loyal their customers are. Some even come weekly or bi-weekly. They also have customers come from Sandpoint and Spokane.

A couple of popular choices here are their Spicy Ahi and the Huli Huli Chicken Plate. I can say their Ube Milk Tea is delicious (one of their signature drinks). Not a lot of people know this, but they also offer catering. Plus, another Idaho location is coming to Post Falls.

From my visit, I feel like this is a well-established location. The restaurant was clean and professional. The manager I spoke to was working hard and on the front lines of the business. They offer a quick and healthy pick for locals wanting good food and good service. If you haven't been to Pokeworks yet, consider checking them out

Businesses need websites

Following is a review of Alpine Web Design LLC. The owner (Hope) found one of my Facebook posts and reached out. She's helping local business level up with quality websites. Hear about Alpine from her own words→

Alpine Web Design LLC is a locally owned web design business based in Post Falls. I started the business after seeing how many small businesses were either overpaying for generic, template-heavy websites or spending hours trying to manage DIY platforms that pulled them away from running their business and spending time with their families. I wanted to offer a better alternative by building fully custom, hand-coded sites that are tailored to each business, while giving owners a stress-free experience that gives them their time back.

I’ve been working on a few new projects recently, primarily helping small businesses improve their online presence with faster, cleaner, and more modern websites. A lot of businesses don’t realize how much a well-built site can impact customer trust and conversions, so that’s been a big focus for me.

Arthur also plays a more official role on the team as our Chief Morale Officer. While I focus on building websites, he takes his job of keeping things running smoothly very seriously - enforcing breaks with his signature move, “the stare,” assisting with design approvals, coordinating snack deliveries, and providing ongoing motivational support. Alpine Web Design wouldn’t be the same without him.

The Sherman Tower

I received ads for something that's been going down lately between 1st and 2nd Street. Actually it's something that's going up. The Coeur d'Alene Resort's Sherman Tower. At this point, it has been in progress for a while and still has a ways to go. Regardless, this project continues towards it's estimated completion date of May, 2027. According to their website, the project is actually ahead of schedule.

This future extension of the Coeur d'Alene resort will have 15 floors, a parking garage, 139 guest rooms, a fitness center, lobby cafe, and more.

Though many locals are upset at this large project downtown, many are also optimistic about the building.

According to the renderings and their description, it will be a luxurious expansion. A fancy, modern interior, and likely some quite expensive food. Whether the takeaway of this expansion is bigger for locals or outside visitors, I will leave that up to you. One thing is sure, Hagadone Hospitality continues to capitalize on the hospitality business, and their locations.
