Terre Coffee & Bakery

This week I visited Terre Coffee and Bakery, and enjoyed learning about the way they operate. They seem to do a good job of making people's visit about more than just a transaction, but also a positive experience. For example, first timers can receive a free pastry

A key takeaway I coined while I was there is that they value up-gives over up-sells. Like giving away these free pastries, or bringing you your coffee if they aren't too busy. Little things like that can make a businesses stand out. The person I talked to during my visit was excited to share how after giving away a cookie, that the next day the visitor returned and then bought the same cookie and a coffee. They earned a repeat visit from an out of town-er who had a positive experience.

I learned that they seem less interested in drive thru only locations. This was the beginning with their first place, but not the ending. They told me "Terre is more about a place to come together and relax." With this, their brand image will be associated with in-shop comfort. Not just a large quantity access of drive thru locations.

Something interesting they told me is that they may be hosting a local vendor market this Spring. Still in the works, but this would be cool to see!

To learn about their story:

If you're looking for something good at Terre, a couple of favorites are their Caramello or their Nutello coffees. Also, a new pastry you might like is their GF White Chocolate Raspberry scone. They're made from scratch!

Inland Cafe and Tea

Inland Cafe and Tea is your quaint destination for good food, and good tea.

Nestled off of Government, this restaurant has you covered with a meal and a wide variety of teas to choose from. They have utilized their space well to accommodate for small or large groups. A couple of their popular sandwiches include the Turkey Pesto or the Turkey Cran. The tea choices are immense, and you may find yourself smelling their dark chocolate, raspberry, or berry combo.

The new owners have sought to retain the meals and tea people knew and enjoyed from the original ownership. They have put effort into making the business their own with the new interior design. This has brought a bit of a fine dining style to the place.

They have several sweet options on the menu including a cinnamon role, bundt cake, or their seasonal sweet. Order "The ultimate Dessert" and you could find yourself with a 3 tiered plate of selections in front of you.

As the new ownership embarks on this journey, I hope that more and more people will visit to help this small business thrive!
